POLIMI is the largest Technical University in Italy and the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria (DEIB) is the largest Department of POLIMI with 250 faculties. Within the DEIB, the Biosignals-Bioimaging-Bioinformatics (BBB) Group will participate to this network. The Group has long standing expertise in the processing of vital signals feature extraction, system modeling as well as in the implementation of these methodologies in wearable or portable devices. It has been the pioneer in the application of the parametric spectral estimators to HRV analysis and it is a leading group in the development of time-frequency methods for biological signals characterization.

UNIZAR is the main academic center in the Ebro Valley. It was founded in 1542 and has nowadays campuses spread all over the region of Aragón. It has approximately 34,000 students and 6,000 staff members. Within the University of Zaragoza, the Aragón Institute for Engineering Research (I3A) was the first Research Institute, created in 2002. I3A has always had a decided international vocation and commitment to innovative science. It has a high level of participation in European projects whose objective is the advancement of knowledge. Today, I3A is the first technological research center in Aragón with more than 500 professionals and 32 research groups in the fields of Biomedical Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies, Processes and Recycling and Industrial Technologies.

Technion TRDF is a subsidiary of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. TECH was founded in 1912 in Haifa and is the oldest university in Israel and the Middle East. Technion has 18 academic departments and 52 research centers and over 13,000 students. Technion’s over 610 faculty members include three Nobel Laureates. Technion is ranked #1 in Europe and #15 in the world in AI according to CSrankings.org

UTU is a multi-disciplinary university with eight faculties. It was established in 1920 and is the third largest university in Finland. The university is situated in Southwest Finland and has over 20,000 degree students and the graduate school has circa 2,000 doctoral candidates pursuing a PhD. The University of Turku is a scientifically strong, multidisciplinary university where new research possibilities are sought especially in disciplinary interfaces and interdisciplinary research. 
BRC was founded in Maastricht in 1987 as a research facility (350 employees) for Medtronic in Europe. The BRC played a major role in the creation and realization of several world class therapies, like Deep Brain Stimulation and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy and collaborated with Maastricht University Hospital in the definition of Atrial Fibrillation models. Empatica’s platform consists of medical-grade wearables, software, and digital biomarkers, that can accurately monitor human health remotely, continuously, and unobtrusively, across a range of health conditions. 

NU is a Spanish medical device manufacturer with expertise in the development of wearable textile solutions. The company develops its own textile with electrodes integrated into the fabric, the electronics to record the ECG and also develops internally the software and algorithms to process the data and diagnose arrhythmias of long term monitoring (30 days). The product is CE marked and FDA approved . The company is also developing new algorithms using deep learning techniques and its proprietary dataset of long term ECG recordings.

CCM is the first Scientific Institute for Research and Treatment in Europe focused exclusively on cardiovascular disease, dedicated to adult patients. CCM is a teaching hospital that hosts the courses for the Degree in Medicine and Surgery the Schools of Specialisation in Cardiology and Heart Surgery and courses for the Degree in Cardiocirculatory Pathophysiology of the University of Milan. Clinical, research and educational activities are combined in a “multidisciplinary approach” with the mission to achieve “Research for Care”. Every year more than 1.500 surgical interventions are performed, along with 7.000 Electrophysiology Haemodynamic and Cardioversion procedures, 72.000 Medical Examinations and 55.000 Major diagnostic tests of which 2.400 for research protocols. CCM has created and coordinates the CARDIOLOGY NETWORK of the Italian Ministry of Health.

IISA is a joint biomedical centre integrated by reference hospitals, primary health care centres, University of Zaragoza and Aragón Health Sciences Institute. IISA was created in 2014 and was accredited as Health Research Centre of Excellence by the National Health Institute Carlos III. Its mission is to facilitate research and innovation in health services, generating knowledge and transferring it to healthcare. More than 1200 affiliated professionals are involved in 92 research groups whose activity is organised in 6 scientific programmes.
